I’ve got a new article to share with you all on WholesomeOne today. I recently had the opportunity to interview Dr. Jason Wexler, of The Endocrine Society regarding natural ways to manage or prevent a thyroid condition.
Thyroid disease has become very prevalent in the United States. Whether it’s hypothyroid, Hashimoto’s, hyperthyroid, Grave’s, a subclinical condition, thyroid cancer, what have you…I see as many more clients with thyroid issues as I see for more common conditions like adult acne, rosacea, gut dysbiosis and other digestive issues, blood sugar irregularities, and high blood pressure. Often, a thyroid condition is not the cause but is, in fact, a symptom of something else going on.
I have my own personal history with thyroid issues as well.?
When I was overweight following my second pregnancy, I developed a goiter (enlarged thyroid) and a subclinical hypothyroid condition in addition to high cholesterol and other problems. Thankfully everything is under control now since I’ve cleaned up my diet and lost all the weight–but this diagnosis made me very nervous. So in addition to the skin and skincare, the thyroid and thyroid issues are topics I research frequently.
